«A story of one tradition, or 5 o’clock tea»

Форма организации: групповая (команды по 5-6 человек)
Оснащение: компьютер и мультимедийный проектор, раздаточные материалы, аудио - и видеозаписи; чайный сервиз, салфетки и муляжи продуктов питания.
Цель: обобщение лингвострановедческих знаний учащихся, полученных на уроках английского языка и актуализация новых знаний.
Задачи:
1. Образовательные:
1.совершенствование умений и навыков практического владения английским языком по следующим видам речевой деятельности: аудирование, говорение, чтение;
2.совершенствование лексико-грамматических навыков
2. Развивающие:
1.Развитие и тренировка внимания, памяти, мышления.
2.Расширение общего кругозора
3.Развитие умение работать в коллективе и принимать совместное решение.
4.Развивать положительные личностные качества (ответственность, доброжелательность, чувство взаимопомощи).
3.Воспитательные:
1.Воспитание интереса к изучению предмета.
2.Воспитание уважения к культуре своей страны и стран изучаемого языка.

Ход мероприятия

1 этап -Ознакомительный

(1-2 слайд) - Hello, boys and girls! Do you like drinking tea? The English really do. Today you will learn some new interesting facts about one of the distinctive English traditions, called afternoon tea, or 5 o"clock tea. Let’s watch a video. (Учащиеся смотрят фрагмент видео "Five o"clock tea at Brown"s Hotel London")
(3 слайд) - Do you have any idea why Englishmen drink tea at exactly this time of the day?

(4-6 слайд) -This tradition dates back to 1840 and appeared thanks to Anna Maria Stanhope, Duchess of Bedford, who was the maid of honor of Queen Victoria. The fact is that during the 18th century a supper was put off for a later time until the beginning of the 19th century, and it ended up to be served at 7 and 8.30 pm. The additional meal between breakfast and dinner was lunch. But there was no other meal for a long period of time before supper that people felt very hungry.

Duchess of Bedford began to suffer from "bad feeling" in the stomach about 4:00 pm , that’s why she used to order her servants to bring her a tray with tea, bread and butter. Anna appreciated the feeling of comfort, so she began to experience such a "refreshment" every day and it became her habit. She began to invite friends to join her at about 5 o"clock in the afternoon in her chambers in Bivver Castle to share tea with her. Back in London, the Duchess continued the tradition, and soon the other ladies had such tea-drinking as a regular practice.
Thus afternoon tea party was a social event. Ladies of high society had guests in the living room between 4 and 5 o"clock. They exchanged gossip, planned the evening and met new people. Sometimes a lady came just for 10-15 minutes, as she wanted to visit some of these “teas”. Different tea cakes, cookies, sandwiches and fruit were served for tea-time. Besides tea, guests could enjoy coffee, wine, sherry or champagne.(На слайдах 4-6 изображения светских чаепитий)

(7-8 слайд) - Modern pace of life has changed the traditions and lifestyles of many Englishmen, but no matter how busy they are, the British are trying to find time for something to drink tea with a slice of pie. The traditional afternoon tea offers a variety of sandwiches (mandatory are thinly sliced cucumber sandwiches (finger sandwiches), and various cakes and buns (scones).

(9-10 слайд) - Do you know how to make traditional English cream tea? Your task is to put the actions in the right order to make a recipe. (Кто быстрее из команд составит инструкцию по приготовлению чая из предложенных действий)

4 этап - Просмотр фильма о чайном этикете в Англии

Watch a video about tea etiquette in England. Make notes. After that you will have to show us how to behave at the table while drinking tea using the equipment given. (Учащиеся смотрят видео "English Cream Tea Etiquette". После просмотра фильма вызывается по одному из членов команд, чтобы продемонстрировать правила этикета. Оценивается правильность выполнения задания)

5 этап - Песня про чай

(12-13 слайд) - Now you will listen to the song called "English Tea" of a well-known English singer Paul MacCartney. Your task it to complete the lyrics of the song with the missing words given above. (Командам раздаются тексты первого куплета и припева песни с пропусками. После прослушивания песни оценивается, кто быстрее и правильно заполнил все пропуски в тексте)

Tom. And what places will we visit?

Вступительное слово : Good morning (afternoon), pupils and guests! Today we are going to visit Magic Disney World. Have a good time!

С ompere1 : l think you know the name of Walt Disney. To many people in our century his name means the world of cartoons. Disney has created a lot of short cartoons and many longer films. His name is very famous, and not only in America.

С ompere2: Walt Disney was born in Chicago on December 5, 1901. Then his family left that city in the North of America for a place in the South. When Walt Disney grew up, he began to draw pictures and create cartoons, and one day he had an idea to make a mouse the main character of the cartoons.

С ompere1: He told his wife, Lillian, about this. He saw this mouse character as a funny friendly little thing, who could speak, dance and sing and who, in fact, could live like a man. "That"s a good idea," Lillian said. "Call him Mickey".

С ompere2: So that is what Disney called him. In 1928 the audience saw Mickey Mouse on the screen for the first time. Mickey became very popular and Soon Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse were famous stars.

С ompere2: One day an idea came to Disney. He wanted to create a special place, a special land for children and parents to have fun together. So he built Disneyland. Disneyland - is in California near Los Angeles.

С ompere1: It is a place for children of all ages. It is also a place for their parents to return to the world of childhood because that is what happens when they spend a day at Disneyland. At Disneyland you can have a voyage on a boat, you can take a train, you can travel to the stars, take a trip to the mountains, meet all the Disney characters... or just sit in the sun and eat ice cream !

Winnie-the-Pooh, or Pooh for short, is walking through the forest. He is humming proudly for himself. He has made up a little hum this morning.

Suddenly he comes to a sandy bank, and in the bank is a large hole.

Pooh (рассматривая нору ):

If I know anything about anything, that hole means Rabbit.

(немного задумавшись ) And Rabbit means company.

(радостно ) And company means food and listening to-me-humming. Rum-tum-tum-tiddle-um.

(заглядывая в нору ) Is anybody at home?

Pooh (рассуждает ):

There must be somebody there. Hello, Rabbit, isn’t that you?

Rabbit (с раздражением):

Pooh (с недоумением):

But isn’t that Rabbit’s voice?

Rabbit (ещё более раздражённо ):

I don’t think so!

Pooh (вежливо ):

Well, could you very kindly tell me where Rabbit is!

Rabbit (сердито ):

He has gone to see his friend Pooh Bear, who is a great friend of his.

Pooh (c удивлением и радостью):

Rabbit (всё ещё сердито ):

What sort of me?

Pooh (громко ):

Rabbit (с сожалением ):

Scene 2.

It is you… Glad to see you.

Pooh (радостно ):

Rabbit (Жестом приглашает Винни-Пуха к столу):

What about a mouthful of something?

Винни-Пух быстро садится за стол и оглядывает припасы кролика.

Narrator: Pooh always likes a little something at eleven o’clock in the morning. He is glad to see that Rabbit is getting out of the plates and mugs.

Rabbit (накладывает из горшков мёд, потом сгущёнку):

Honey or condensed milk with bread?

Pooh (довольно улыбаясь ):

Both. But don’t bother about the bread, please!

(Кролик садится рядом с Пухом за стол и с удивлением наблюдает, как Пух мгновенно съедает мёд, потом всю сгущёнку. Пух ставит на стол пустую посуду и протягивает Кролику лапу в знак благодарности. Кролик радостно её пожимает, надеясь, что Пух сейчас уйдёт.)

Rabbit (с радостью):

Well good-by, if you don’t want to have any more.

Pooh (с надеждой, облизываясь):

Is there any more?

Rabbit (со вздохом):

No, there isn’t.

Pooh (с сожалением):

Well, good-by. I must go now.

(Пух направляется к двери, пытается выйти на улицу и застревает.)

Pooh (кричит ):

Oh, help! I can’t go back and I can’t go on!

(Кролик выскакивает на улицу через вторую дверь в противоположном конце норы и подходит к Пуху со стороны улицы)

Rabbit (обречённо ):

The fact is you are stuck! Well, well, I’ll go and fetch Christopher Robin. (Кролик уходит )

Narrator:

Do you remember that Christopher Robin is their friend. He lives at the other end of the forest.

(Появляется Кролик и Кристофер Робин)

Christopher (подходит к Пуху ):

Silly Bear! There is only one thing you can do. You must get thin!

Pooh (испуганно ):

How long does it take to get thin?

С hristopher (с напускной серьёзностью ):

About a week, I think.

Pooh (с ужасом ):

A week! What about meals?

I’m afraid no meals. But we’ll read you!

Narrator:

So for a week Christopher Robin reads a book and Pooh is getting thinner and thinner.

С hristopher (откладывая в сторону книгу):

(Подходит к Пуху со стороны улицы, берёт его за обе лапы и тянет на себя. Пух вываливается из узкой двери.)

Pooh (радостно):

Ow! Oh! Thank you! (Быстро убегает)

С hristopher (смотрит ему вслед и качает головой):

Участники концерта выходят на сцену и поют песню "Winnie-the-Pooh".

Цель:

Повышение у учащихся мотивации и интереса к изучению английского языка.

Задачи:

Образовательные – тренировка лексических и грамматических навыков, совершенствование навыков аудирования, актуализация страноведческого материала, расширение кругозора.

Развивающие - развитие познавательной активности, творческих способностей, логического мышления, языковой догадки.

Воспитательные – воспитание уважения к культуре изучаемого языка, формирование дружелюбного отношения друг к другу.

Оборудование : ПК, мультимедийный проектор, экран, презентации Power Point , карточки с заданиями, призы победителям, музыкальное оформление.

Предварительная подготовка

Игра состоит из семи конкурсов, между которыми проводится музыкальная пауза (исполнение песни на английском языке). Для участия в игре ученики заранее делятся на три команды по 5 человек. В каждой команде учащиеся выбирают капитанов, придумывают названия команд, девизы и эмблемы. Выбирается жюри из учеников класса. По окончании каждого конкурса капитаны команд сдают карточки с выполненными заданиями для проверки членам жюри. Жюри подводит промежуточные итоги, а в конце игры объявляется команда-победительница и проводится церемония награждения

Welcome to our competition “Learning English is Fun”. We have three teams. You will have different tasks. Jury will give you scores. At the end of the competition we shall find out who the winner is. II . Конкурс «Представление команд»

Команды по очереди выходят на сцену и представляют свое название, девиз и эмблему. Жюри оценивает данный конкурс по пятибалльной системе.

III .Конкурс «Грамматический брейн-ринг»

You will get the cards with tests. Your task is to choose the correct variant and circle it. You have 3-4 minutes . Задание для участников - обвести кружком правильный вариант ответа. На выполнение задания отводится 3-4 минуты. За первое задание команды получают максимально 10 баллов.

Командам предлагается принять участие в страноведческой викторине “ What do you know about Great Britain and London . Учитель демонстрирует слайды. Капитаны команд поочередно зачитывают вопросы и три варианта ответов. Задание для участников – выбрать один вариант ответа. На выполнение задания отводится – 10 минут. Максимальный бал за данный конкурс - 25баллов.

Задание для команд – выбрать 10 картинок с изображением достопримечательностей Лондона и назвать их. Команды записывают на карточках номер слайда и название достопримечательности. На выполнение задания отводится 5 минут. Максимальный балл -10.

Максимальный балл -10. На данный конкурс отводится 10 минут.

Учитель предлагает командам составить 10 пословиц и перевести их. Каждая команда получает набор из 20 карточек. На выполнение данного задания отводится 10 минут. Максимальный балл - 20.

VIII . Конкурс « Кто больше »

It’s time to do the last task of our competition. You will get a long word. The task for you is to make up as many short words of the given one as you can. They may be different parts of speech. You have 5 minutes.

Учитель привлекает внимание учащихся к ключевому слову - sweetheart .

Задание для команд – составить из данного слова как можно больше коротких слов. На выполнение данного задания отводится 10 минут. Команды получают баллы по количеству правильно составленных слов.

IX. Подведение итогов .

Ok, we have come to the end of our competition. It is interesting to find out what team is the winner today. Congratulations! You’ve done well! Thank you very much for the lesson! Good - bye ! Учитель благодарит детей за работу, жюри подводит итоги соревнования и поздравляет победителей.
